Casual loading 25%.Job DescriptionThis role is within the Timely Emergency Care (TEC) initiative at St Vincent''s Hospital Fitzroy campus. The successful applicant will provide highquality physiotherapy management and expert discharge planning to acute general medical patients.About The RoleThis position involves taking a leadership role within the weekend workforce and on the general medicine multidisciplinary team. Applications from current grade 2 and grade 3 physiotherapists will be considered.DutiesProvide leadership and coordination of the general medicine units across a weekend.Provide assessment and clinical management to patients in the acute general medical units.Communicate assessment and treatment outcomes to nursing, medical and other allied health staff via documentation.Provide a tertiary level of consultancy in outlying wards as required.Participate in multidisciplinary ward meetings and planning.Provide supervision for other weekend physiotherapy staff and allied health assistants, as required.Communicate accurate handover information for ongoing physiotherapy management for all patients.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum seven years of postgraduate experience.Postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of physiotherapy (or working towards) would be highly regarded.Broad experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in an acute setting.Demonstrated leadership skills and extensive experience in the supervision and professional development of physiotherapists, students and support staff.Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.What We OfferWellbeing initiatives, regular events and programs.Confidential, solutionsfocused employee counselling.Fitness Passport access.Salary packaging.Location: Fitzroy, CBD with nearby cafes, public transport and parking.Discounts and promotions via the St Vincent''s Foundation.Culture of continuous improvement.Physiotherapy DepartmentThe Physiotherapy Department provides highquality clinical services across a spectrum of acute, subacute and outpatient services.
