Reporting to the Finance Manager Smiggle, you''ll help deliver month-end results, key financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide cost control analysis for our global markets. You''ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive performance and ensure accurate, timely reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesMonth-end Process: Conduct month-end tasks including preparing and posting journals to ensure the completeness and accuracy of expensesCost Control Reporting & Analysis: Conduct detailed month-end reviews of states and store cost centres to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment. Analyse cost variances, identify drivers, and provide actionable insights to key stakeholdersBudgeting & Projections: Assist in preparing budgets, monthly, seasonal, and annual financial projections that align with brand strategies. Challenge and validate assumptions to maintain projection accuracy within 95% of actual resultsBalance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations. Liaise with broader finance and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure integrity ahead of reporting deadlinesRoyalty & Licensing Management: Coordinate quarterly royalty reporting and payment processes including global licensing reconciliations. Standardise royalty-related procedures and collaborate with licensors to manage forecasts and ad hoc financial requestsProcess Improvement & Collaboration: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency by consolidating financial processes. Support cross-functional learning within the finance team to maintain strong coverage during peak times or leaveAbout YouMinimum 3-5 years'' experience in financial analysis, preferably within retail, multi-brand, or consumer goods sectorsProven ability to prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial projections aligned with business strategiesHandson experience managing monthend close activities, including journal posting, cost centre reviews and balance sheet reconciliationsStrong understanding of cost control and labour reporting in a multisite retail environmentExperience working with royalty/licensing financials and managing related reconciliations is highly desirableAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial systems and reporting toolsCollaborative mindset with experience working crossfunctionally to support business objectivesGenerous staff discount and access to our sample salesCentral office location based on St Kilda Rd, with direct access to the picturesque Fawkner ParkWork closely within a high performing, supportive and collaborative environmentEngage in continuous learning and development programs to enhance your skills and foster personal and professional growthCoffee lover?
