Executive Director, Conduct and Integrity Add expected salary to your profile for insights SES-2 Executive Director Conduct and Integrity Division Reports directly to the Deputy Secretary, People and Executive Services. Opportunity is for a full-time, fixed term 3-year appointment. Melbourne CBD location at 2 Treasury Place, East Melbourne. Department of Education The Department of Education offers learning and development support and services for Victorians and provides every student in Victoria with equal access to high-quality public education. Conduct and Integrity Division The Conduct and Integrity Division provides specialist, expert advice and support to school principals, executives and other people managers on employee conduct and performance including child safety concerns, fraud and corruption. Services span more than 100,000 employees, across more than 1500 workplaces with directly employed staff who have a duty of care to approximately 650,000 students, young people and learners. The division leads critical functions with respect to employees and operations, including: Managing child safety misconduct and reportable conduct investigations, including notifications to the Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) under the Reportable Conduct Scheme in relation to departmental employees and others engaged in departmental workplaces (which includes all government schools in Victoria) Managing fraud and corruption investigations, including mandatory notifications to the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission (IBAC) and public interest disclosures Managing reporting and relationships with Victoria Police (where employment and criminal matters intersect) and with oversight and integrity bodies including the Victorian Institute of Teaching, CCYP (soon to change to the new Social Services Regulator), IBAC, Victorian Ombudsman and the Victorian Public Sector Commission Maintaining productive relationships with unions, principal peak organisations and other stakeholders Providing expert advice and support to principals and people managers to manage allegations of misconduct, unsatisfactory performance, fitness for duty and to ensure effective application of integrity-related policies Providing expert advice and management of fraud and corruption control, and integrity performance reporting Providing expert advice on suitability for employment and management of the department''s Employment Limitation policy Developing and maintaining the department''s guidelines on managing complaints, misconduct and unsatisfactory performance for the teaching service and the public service Capability building and developing training activities aimed at increasing staff confidence to prevent, speak up, identify and respond to inappropriate behaviour, reportable conduct and misconduct Strengthening avenues for staff to speak up about inappropriate behaviour and misconduct Driving behavioural and system change to build a stronger culture of integrity and child safety in all department workplaces. Executive Director, Conduct and Integrity Division This role a critical leadership role for the department. The position requires stewardship and expertise in overseeing public sector employment and integrity investigations, mostly in government schools, and developing processes and systems of work that reflect the department''s unique context and commitment to child safe settings. The role demands strong people leadership and management of multidisciplinary functions and teams, complex problem solving and an ability to interpret legislation and strategically advise on the intersection of employment law, child safety, human rights, discrimination and general protections obligations.
