You could be the right person to join the Safe Wayz team in Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD (ISLHD) on Dharawal and Yuin lands.ISLHD is looking for a Health Clinician or Senior Health Clinician to join the Safe Wayz team. This position coordinates an integrated response for children under the age of criminal responsibility (currently 10 years in NSW) with problematic or harmful sexual behaviours (PHSBs).ISLHD aims to provide a culturally safe environment for people from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal families and communities. This role coordinates pathways into specialist counselling services for children and families who need them and will hold a small clinical caseload. The Safe Wayz Program coordinates primary prevention initiatives to educate children, families, schools, carers, community and professionals about PHSB, including guidance on developmentally appropriate sexual behaviours. It involves building capacity to identify and understand PHSB, collaborating with agency partners, providing consultation and training, and advocating for system and practice changes.
