Our portfolio includes dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation the essential infrastructure that builds better communities.About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to join our commercial team in Brisbane and Sydney - taking a leadership role in the financial, contractual and commercial management of major water and civil infrastructure projects.This is a senior position suited to someone who has demonstrated capability at a senior level, someone who brings depth of experience, sound judgement and the confidence to lead commercial outcomes across complex, multidisciplinary projects. You will oversee endtoend commercial functions, mentor project teams and play a key role in driving project performance, risk management and commercial strategy.ResponsibilitiesLeading detailed cost planning, estimation, forecasting and financial reporting across major civil and water infrastructure projectsOverseeing procurement strategies, tender evaluations, contract preparation and highlevel contract administrationProviding authoritative commercial and financial risk assessments, and guiding project teams in implementing mitigation strategiesManaging complex subcontractor claims, variations, progress payments and commercial negotiationsEnsuring robust cost controls, accurate financial tracking and compliance with contractual obligationsPreparing and reviewing progress claims, payment schedules and commercial documentationCoaching and supporting project engineers and quantity surveyors to uplift commercial capability across the businessContributing to broader commercial strategy, continuous improvement and project governanceQualificationsA degree in Quantity Surveying or a related disciplineExtensive experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil and/or water infrastructure, ideally with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor experienceDeep understanding of commercial frameworks, contract law, procurement processes and financial controlsDemonstrated ability to lead commercial functions on complex, highvalue projectsStrong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret technical information and translate it into accurate commercial insightsProven experience managing subcontractor negotiations, variations, claims and dispute resolutionExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and build strong relationships across project teamsA proactive, strategic mindset with a commitment to delivering highquality commercial outcomesWhy You Should Work With UsOur people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we''re committed to being a place where great people build longterm careers.
