The Portfolio consists of properties in Tasmania, Melbourne, and Western Australia, including Mvenpick Hotel Hobart | Mvenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer | ibis Styles Hobart | Novotel Devonport | Novotel Perth Murray Street.Reporting to the Portfolio Director of Finance, this role will be Melbourne-based and situated at Mvenpick Hotel Melbourne on Spencer in the CBD. Subject to candidate experience, this role could be full-time, or part-time pro rata, with a flexible combination of working on-site and off-site.Join a team where you can be all you are, grow and create your path, work with purpose, and enjoy and feel valued.Join us, and become a HeartistJob DescriptionAs Payroll Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process for 3-4 hotels, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and internal policies. You will collaborate closely with People & Culture, Finance, Head of Departments, and external providers to deliver a seamless payroll experience.You WillManage, administer, and process weekly payroll for 300+ employees across Melbourne and TasmaniaEnsure payroll compliance with relevant Modern Awards and legislationMaintain accurate payroll records and reportingLead payroll audits and liaise with external auditors as requiredManage PAYG, superannuation, and other statutory deductions in a timely mannerComplete month-end and year-end payroll-related financial processesRespond to payroll queries with professionalism and discretionPartner with Talent & Culture and Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, and reportingIdentify and implement process improvement and automation opportunitiesProvide training and guidance on payroll procedures to colleagues and Head of DepartmentsGenerate monthly HR and payroll reports, along with ad hoc analytical insights for senior leadership including ownersOversee WorkCover documentation, claim submissions, and communication with insurersQualificationsProven experience in payroll managementStrong knowledge of payroll systems (i.e., Human Force, Wage Easy, and Zambion)Up-to-date understanding of Hospitality Industry General Award (HIGA), Australia payroll legislation, and complianceExcellent attention to detail and analytical skillsStrong communication and interpersonal abilitiesStrong organisation and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectivelyA collaborative and approachable style, with the ability to handle confidential matters with integrity and discretionRelevant qualifications in payroll, accounting, or HR are advantageousTo be successful in this role, you must have rights to work for any employee in Australia.
