The role requires a leader who is equally comfortable on the shop floor and in the boardroom, with the credibility to lead large, technically skilled teams and the commercial acumen to drive sustainable performance.The position is primarily based in Newcastle, where the majority of Ampcontrol''s operational workforce and manufacturing capability is located. This role requires a strong on-site presence, with interstate and occasional international travel.Key Responsibilities Include:Lead multi-site manufacturing and engineered project operations, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality deliveryOwn operational financial performance, capital investment and cost controlDrive operational excellence, industrialisation and continuous improvement programsLift DIFOT, productivity, margin and throughput across the value chainEmbed a strong safety-first, performance-driven culture aligned to Ampcontrol valuesShape and execute operational strategy aligned to the group''s growth ambitionsActively contributing to the senior leadership team function to drive optimal organisational strategy, structure, culture and performanceAmpcontrol operates across two core business models:Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environments where technology, design and project execution are criticalStandard product/volume manufacturing environments where rhythm, repeatability and efficiency are keyCandidates may come from either background; however, the ability to adapt across both models within digitally enabled, data-driven environments is essential.About youThis role is suited to an expert manufacturing/industrial operations executive leader. You will bring:Senior leadership experience in industrial manufacturing or OEM environmentsBackgrounds in heavy industry, mining equipment, electrical/electronic/mechanical manufacturing or discrete manufacturingProven success leading lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and operational transformationStrong capability across complex, multi-site and global supply chainsExperience with offshore manufacturing, with China or similar markets highly regardedA visible, hands-on leadership style with strong cultural and people leadership capabilityA strategic mindset with an inherent understanding of project delivery and customer value chainsDemonstrated ability to grow and develop the capability of your teamsExperience in electrical or power solutions is desirable but not essential.QualificationsEngineering qualification (Diploma or higher)Lean, Six Sigma or Operational Excellence credentialsLocationThis role is based in Newcastle, reflecting the scale and importance of the Hunter Region operations.
