You''ll lead project teams and provide technical expertise, support, and guidance to junior engineers, helping to build their knowledge and capabilities. You will also receive ongoing support and training to further develop your skills and advance your career.Role accountabilitiesPreparing and delivering complex designs, reports, proposals and presentations to clients in the following areas:AC and DC traction substation system design including preparation of single line diagrams, layouts, circuit diagrams, earthing and bonding schematics, and coordination of the design with communication, civil, structural and mechanical design disciplinesAC and DC traction power system studies including equipment sizing, fault calculations and insulation coordination studiesCoordination of the traction power system with overhead wiring and signalling system designLightning protection system designEarthing system analysis and design including pipeline LFI studiesEarthing, bonding and electrolysis assessment and designAC and DC traction protection systems analysis, setting, specification and designManage the delivery of specialised components of projects, advising on the most effective team to achieve this.Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.Leading and mentoring upcoming team members.Provide technical expertise and overview to client and stakeholders and assist clients through technical decisionmaking and provide alternative options/solutions if there are changes to project parameters.Liaising with the Project Manager and the client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project.Qualifications & Experience7+ years'' experience as power systems engineer, with at least 3 years recent experience in traction power system design or equivalent (significant experience in the utility power sector with sufficient knowledge of rail systems would also be considered).Tertiary qualification in electrical/power engineering, preferably chartered engineering and RPEQ status.Excellent spoken and written communication skills including a working knowledge of MS Office.Highly regarded skills include:Experience in a design consultancy roleDemonstrated ability to lead the design teams and deliver traction design packagesExperience of working with traction power system modelling software toolsThe ability to develop earthing and induction models in CDEGS earthing system software is desirableHV substation design, Protection system design, Power system studiesAbility to develop traction power system models in ETAP or equivalent software toolAbility to develop transient studies in ATP/PSCAD/EMTPAbility to develop EMC management plans and manage the EMC management procedure.Ability to develop maintenance strategies and procedures, commissioning plans and documentationNote: Not all these skills above are expected and training will be given to develop these.Our Commitment to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & BelongingWe want you to be able to bring your best self to work every day which is why we take equality and inclusion seriously and hold ourselves to account for our actions.As an equal opportunity employer, we value and promote diversity at Arcadis and strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.Veterans and spouses are invited to apply.#J-18808-Ljbffr
