With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.About The OpportunityManage the provision of inspection, testing, maintenance and minor renewals activities to ensure the operational availability of the signalling infrastructure and operational safe working systems in compliance with engineering standards and specifications.Responsibilities Of The Role Include, But Not Limited ToPerforming and monitoring of engineering inspections on signalling equipmentSupporting maintenance teams with fault findingInvestigating and reporting on signalling failures including wrong side failures and SPADsSupporting the development of Annual Works Management PlanDevelopment and implementation of methods to monitor relevant KPI''sReview of KPI''s and implementation of controls as necessaryDevelopment of methods to monitor and analyse signalling faults, particularly recurring and no cause foundImplementation of methods and strategies to reduce signalling faultsAttendance at major incidents as nominatedArrangement of special needs-based inspection and testing of signalling equipment and report as to its condition and suitability for continued useDevelopment and monitoring of audit and inspection and testing programmes to ensure maintenance activities are in accordance with ARTC requirements and any statutory obligations applicable to the jurisdictionAssistance with the development of MPM and CAP programmes and submissionsParticipation in ARTC initiatives such as the SPAD and Signal Fault Reduction CommitteesEnsure fair and equitable workplace practices and behaviours are complied with, creating a discrimination free workplace in accordance with legislative requirementsEnsure that policies and procedures that relate to people, culture and development are effectively practiced and administered within the respective work siteIdentify skills gaps and training needs and implementing signal training programs for Signals staff and ApprenticesEnsure compliance with ARTC''s Safety Management System (SMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities and accountabilitiesPromote a safety culture within the team to conform with current Work Health and Safety (WH&S) and relevant Rail Safety legislationEnsure that injuries are properly reported, and that any injured employees are provided both a safe and timely return to workWhat do we want from you?EssentialTertiary qualifications in engineering, and or relevant industry experienceARTC Statement of Competency (Signals) or demonstrated ability to attain as per Signals Competency Assessment (EST-20-03)Drivers Licence Class CSuperior knowledge of signalling infrastructure and systemsHighly developed problem resolution and interpersonal skillsExperience in the management of safetyEligibility for Corporate Membership of the Institute of Engineers or the Institute of Railway Signal EngineersExperience in signalling maintenance managementExperience in the administration and management of maintenance and minor renewals projectsProven problem resolution and interpersonal skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsDesirableUp-to-date knowledge of latest signalling technologiesDemonstrated commercial acumenSound knowledge of standards for signalling infrastructure including network rulesKnowledge of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislationWhat will you get from us?Talk to us about flexible working optionsCompetitive remunerationResources to support your health and wellbeing and developmentNovated leasing options, as well as discounts and support programs24/7 Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their direct family membersOur Organisation and CultureAt ARTC, we''re more than just a rail network.
