Deputy Head of Senior School (Years 10 - 12)Anglican Church Grammar School, known internationally as Churchie, is at the forefront of boys'' education both in Australia and internationally. As part of the Deputy Snr department, this 5year fulltime fixedterm position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the educational excellence of our senior school students.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head of Senior School in providing leadership and management for students in Years 10 - 12.Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student welfare, discipline, and academic progress.Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the delivery of highquality education and pastoral care within the senior school.Contribute to the planning and coordination of cocurricular activities, events, and programs for senior school students.Engage with parents and caregivers to address studentspecific needs and concerns, fostering positive relationships within the school community.Participate in staff professional development activities and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives within the senior school.Assume responsibility for specific projects or areas of focus as designated by the Head of Senior School.Personal Attributes and QualitiesDemonstrated ability to deliver effective pastoral care to boys in Years 7-12.Ability to organise and deliver programmes and events applicable to an entire cohort.Positive and supportive outlook, developing within the cohort a climate of trust, support, and mutual respect.Sensitivity and understanding of the needs and behaviours of students.Ability to reflect on one''s leadership style as an example appropriate for boys, including service to others, tolerance, patience, and valuing individual differences.Qualifications and ExperienceAppropriate tertiary qualifications and experience for the position applied.Knowledge of, and experience in, teaching of the disciplines outlined above. Familiarisation with the pastoral curriculum in a leading role will be advantageous.Proven excellence as a classroom practitioner, employing strategies that engage students with a variety of learning abilities, deploying group and individual learning options that sustain a literacyrich curriculum and which use technology as a tool to enhance learning outcomes.Manage daily teacher absences, coordinate class supervision and duty rosters, and oversee operational adjustments including room allocations and supervising staff through TimeTabler.Ability to lead effective curriculum and pedagogical development specific to boys'' education and in keeping with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (preferred).Demonstrated ability to employ strategies that engage Senior School students.Ability to work effectively within a team and build cooperative relationships with staff and parents.Willingness to support the spiritual, community and cocurricular life of the School.Oversee the development of resources and organise guest speakers for Wellbeing curriculum.Current working rights for Australia.Applicants must hold (or be eligible to obtain) registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.Churchie is committed to the provision of a safe and supportive environment for all children and young people and requires all employees, volunteers and visitors to model and encourage behaviour that upholds the dignity and protection of students from harm.
