Identifying, supporting and encouraging leadership and innovation, AAL is a proven leader in sustainability, supporting diversity and inclusion, and offering flexible workplace arrangements.Reporting to the Network and Data Centre Lead, the Senior Network & Data Centre Engineer plays a critical role in shaping and securing AAL''s IT and OT infrastructure and maintaining resilient infrastructure that underpins AAL''s digital operations. With endtoend ownership of core network and data centre services, this role leads key infrastructure projects, optimises performance, enhances security posture, and ensures high availability across both IT and OT environments.Key responsibilitiesLead the design and deployment of network and data centre solutions aligned with digital transformation goals, ensuring resilience, security, and performance.Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and optimisation of network infrastructure, data centres, and associated systems to ensure high availability and reliability.Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions to minimise disruptions.Act as a technical lead on infrastructure projects, including upgrades, new system deployments, integrations, and remediation activities.Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, configurations, operational procedures, and contribute to the development of standards and policies for infrastructure management.Identify potential risks or vulnerabilities within IT/OT systems and develop strategies to mitigate or remediate them effectively.Participate in risk assessments, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and other governancerelated activities to enhance infrastructure resilience.Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align infrastructure solutions with broader business needs and objectives.Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices across IT and OT environments.Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and capability development.Key requirementsBachelor''s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (or equivalent experience).Extensive experience in network architecture (routing / switching / firewalls / VPNs / WAN / LAN).Deep understanding of data centre infrastructure including virtualisation / storage / backup / power management.Proven track record delivering infrastructure projects with emerging technologies (e.g., SDWAN / Zero Trust / hybrid cloud).Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles applied to infrastructure management.Able to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identity Card (ASIC).Overall, you will be a strategic thinker with handson delivery capabilities and the ability to build collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Your proactive and solutionsfocused approach, combined with strong communication skills, will enable you to effectively engage nontechnical stakeholders and deliver exceptional outcomes.This role is vital to the continued success of an organisation committed to service excellence, fostering inclusion, driving innovation, and promoting sustainability in a dynamic and supportive working environment.Adelaide Airport ValuesAccountability Excellence starts with ownership.Integrity Do the right thing, even when no one''s around to see it.Respect Good humans make great workplaces.Teamwork Collaboration drives us.Celebration Unites us.Customer Focussed Think customer.
