This opportunity is ideal for someone seeking parttime work or a VMO arrangement that complements existing commitments to achieve fulltime hours.The Director of Medical Services will drive innovative, responsive medical leadership and support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in clinical governance and strategic decisionmaking. Key responsibilities include:Providing strong leadership to Medical Services, fostering trust and effective communication among medical practitioners, caregivers, and administrative professionals.Promoting clinical excellence and efficient, patientcentred care while upholding the highest standards of medical practice.Offering expert guidance to credentialed medical practitioners, hospital executives, and managers on medical service delivery.Overseeing systems and processes that ensure the highest standards of clinical safety, quality, and risk management, with a focus on:Clinical performance oversight, peer review, and addressing variations in practice.Accreditation, credentialing, and scope of practice in alignment with SJGHC Medical Practitioner Bylaws.Root cause analysis, clinical risk mitigation, and complaint management.Monitoring and addressing individual practitioner performance and ensuring compliance with relevant policies, legal frameworks, and best practices.Supporting the CEO in engaging with medical practitioners on credentialing, clinical performance, and strategic recruitment.Develop strong, collaborative professional relationships with referral hospitals, particularly the colocated Bunbury Regional Hospital, and tertiary hospitals to enhance patient access, experience and flow through the health system.Establishing robust communication channels to continuously advance clinical safety and quality.Leading external medical liaison with medicolegal bodies, coroners, and professional organisations as needed.You are a registered Medical Practitioner with AHPRA and hold a Fellowship of a Royal Australasian College.
