Aurizon has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant with previous SAP experience to join our Group Financial Reporting Team. This role will support the Group Accounting Lead on all facets of financial accounting with a focus on balance sheet governance, financial accounting, fixed assets accounting and driving continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesCompletion and/or review of monthend accounting (including journal entries for sharebased payments, group provisions and group consolidation)Completion and/or review of reporting and analysis of monthend consolidated results including balance sheet and cash flows to provide meaningful support to senior management decision makingReview of fixed assets accounting, monthend close processes and reporting outputsReview of cash accounting monthend close processesCompletion and/or review of balance sheet reconciliationsContributing to balance sheet and cash flow planning and forecasting processesMentoring and supporting team members to improve capability and quality outputsDriving process improvements and automation in group and asset accounting and reportingCompliance activities and data preparation for external audits and financial statementsAbout youYou will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical accounting capability and a passion for process improvement and problem solving, motivated by the opportunity to shape how an ASXlisted company communicates its progress toward a more sustainable future.You''ll bringTertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce (mandatory)CPA or CA qualification (mandatory)SAP or other large ERP experience, including general ledger and fixed assets (mandatory)510 years of experience in an accounting role, with 2+ years'' experience in a similar roleCustomer service focus, committed to valueadded process improvementSolid technical skills in fixed assets accounting including related tax requirementsSolid general accounting skills including financial accounting and governance principlesEffective and persuasive verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work as an effective member of a team and build relationships for resultsExtensive analytical capability, problemsolving ability and attention to detailWhat we offer youAt Aurizon, we support the development and growth of our employees.
