With over 90 standards and programs covering animal welfare, food production, livestock regulation and ESG supply chain, the organisation has helped shape the quality of the Australian food industry for 30 years.As a nonprofit, AUSMEAT operates with integrity under ISO 9001:2015 and JASANZ/GFSI accreditation, providing services across all Australian states, territories and New Zealand.Role DescriptionThis workfromhome/mobile position allows you to work from home and attend client sites throughout Far North Queensland to deliver audit services for the following standards:Freshcare (Food Safety & Quality, Supply Chain, Environmental)HARPSExpect significant travel, including interstate trips for training, conferences and rotation managementtypically 4 out of 5, or 8 out of 10 days, at client sites supporting North Queensland growers.Daily responsibilities include:Engage with growers and the wider community as a role model and AUSMEAT/AUSQUAL representative.Conduct audit processes in line with programme, scheme and quality management standards.Deliver thorough, finalised audit reports in a timely manner.Collaborate with headoffice technical support, administration services and scheduling teams, representing the business within the industry.Escalate unresolved issues or queries to the relevant Programme Manager or Technical Advisor.Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in line with the Employee Code of Conduct.Adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies, particularly Fatigue Management.A Little About YouYou are passionate about food safety and possess strong knowledge and experience within the horticulture industry and food safety compliance practices.Requirements include a minimum of two years'' onfarm experiencesuch as chemical use, water use, planting and harvestingwithin horticulture production systems or food processing (plants or packing/preprocessing of plant products). You must understand food safety processes from picking to packing.Experience in quality assurance of food safety functions (QA, environmental or sustainability management systems) is desirable.You should hold, or be prepared to obtain, a postsecondary qualification (a bachelor''s degree is highly regarded) in the horticulture industryfor example, Food Science or a related field.Certifications required or desirable:Lead Food Safety AuditorExternal HACCP (principles & applications)Chemical UserExemplar Global registeredLead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) highly desirableFreshcare training in Environmental (+Reef) highly desirableIf you are missing any of these, we will assist you in attaining the necessary certificates.You should be selfmotivated, organized and able to work autonomously with remote technical assistance. Proficiency in digital platforms and portals, clear professional writing, and comfort with typing reports or using electronic forms are required.Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for building professional relationships and delivering developmental feedback.
