The Configuration Controller will play a critical role within the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) Product Configuration Management & Change Management team by assisting in the co-ordination and implementation of HCF configuration management through life configuration and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, policies and supporting toolset.Key responsibilitiesAct as the interface with the HCF customer to agree the configuration management requirements for the Materiel Data Exchange of HCF data to their Configuration Management ToolsetLead on developing the Configuration Baseline Data requirements and develop the processes for delivery, including changes to the HCF Configuration Management ToolsetProvide product Configuration Management in Australia and represent the Product Configuration Manager UK at all meetings where configuration management representation is requiredInitiate and support the configuration management requirements for Functional and Physical Configuration AuditsAssist in the development of configuration management processes and resources and provide ad hoc support to engineering, support problem resolution and data quality issuesAbout YouEngineering degree or relevant technical diploma or certificate desirable, or trade skill with suitable experienceDemonstrated CM experience in one or more engineering environments in a CM role, or engineering/technical role involving significant CM involvementSignificant experience in the use of recognised CM tools and associated databasesExperience or potential to manage a CM related technical team, including interfacing with engineering/technical personnel (e.g. IT staff)Well-developed literacy in computer usage including highly developed skills in standard office software applications and relevant expertise in use of large computer systems and databasesSkills in people management, problem solving and conflict management are desirableOur Culture and BenefitsWe believe in hiring for potential and understand some candidates may not tick every box.
