This is a pivotal opportunity to shape Beach''s electricity market entry, drive value through innovative commercial structures, and influence one of the most significant strategic shifts in our business.In this role, you''ll lead commercial negotiations, design market participation strategies, and establish the operational frameworks needed for Beach to participate confidently and compliantly in wholesale electricity markets.This is an exciting role for someone who can bring deep electricity market insight, strategic vision, and strong commercial acumen to guide Beach''s growth in power.About the RoleReporting to the General Manager Marketing Sales Trading & Commercial Operations, you will play a central role in defining and implementing Beach''s electricity market strategy.You will become a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing market intelligence, strategic recommendations, and commercial insights that unlock value from Beach''s gas portfolio through new electricity market opportunities.Key responsibilities will include:Developing and implementing Beach''s electricity market entry and participation strategy across short and longterm horizons.Leading negotiations for commercial arrangements, including PPAs, hedge contracts, tolling agreements, and partnerships with gaspowered generation (GPG) developers and owners.Designing commercial models and business cases that support investment decisions and strategic growth initiatives.Establishing frameworks to monitor AEMO data, market conditions, regulatory changes and emerging risks.Managing compliance with NEM regulatory and licensing requirements, and strengthening relationships with AEMO, AER and key industry stakeholders.Designing and implementing risk management systems, controls and procedures across bidding, trading and settlement activities.Providing commercial leadership and supporting crossfunctional alignment across operations, finance, legal, commercial operations and tradingRole model Beach Energy''s culture where everyone can bring their authentic and best selves to work.About YouSignificant experience in the NEM across commercial negotiation, business development, energy contracting, trading, or wholesale market operations.Strong knowledge of electricity pricing, tolling, wholesale contract structures and market dynamics.Proven experience developing and negotiating sophisticated commercial arrangements.A strong network across the electricity market ecosystem, with credibility among regulators, developers and market participants.A collaborative approach, with the ability to work crossfunctionally and deliver outcomes in fastpaced environments.About UsA proud Australian pioneer, Beach Energy is an ASX-listed oil and gas exploration and production company headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia.Founded in 1961, Beach produces gas, oil and natural gas liquids from five basins across Australia and New Zealand, with a strategic focus on the core hubs of East Coast Australia and West Coast Australia.Beach''s vision is to become Australia''s leading domestic energy company by delivering leading shareholder returns through the sustainable supply of energy.Our values define us, guide our actions, our decisions and our words.Down to Earth, Aim Sky High, Feed the Fire and Create the Wave.Our Employee BenefitsAt Beach Energy, your well-being and success are genuinely valued, with a wide range of employee benefits designed to support every aspect of your career and personal life.Enjoy access to an in-house GP, flexible working arrangements, and generous parental leave to help balance work and family.
