UGL Industrials is offering a qualified and experienced Project Accountant for our Workshop located at Bennetts Green. This permanent fulltime role is a 12month fixedterm contract covering maternity leave. It runs MondayFriday, 38 hours per week, and is a residential position with no livingawayfromhome provision or facility for nonlocal employees. Local applicants from the Newcastle region are strongly encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesEstablish and control contract finances, deep dive into data, generate financial reports, provide insights and lead process improvement in the tracking and management of financial and cost data.Assist Operations Managers and Contract/Project Managers to analyse financial and project information, identify strengths/weaknesses and recommend improvements.Cost management of projects and contracts.Generation of project purchase orders and processing of vendor invoices.Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, margin results and contract/project actual performance compared to the budget/forecast, controlling income, cash flow and expenditure.Plan, establish and direct the contract/project financial administrative activities and operational procedures to protect profits.Prepare and execute claims and invoicing; manage daytoday debtors and creditors aging and maintain forecasted working capital.Assist with the preparation of management reports including budget and forecast utilisation, cash flow forecast and adhoc analysis as requested.Maintain customer/client relationships and provide support and guidance to the contracts support team and contract/project managers.Run the monthend process efficiently and in a timely manner, complying with schedules and deadlines.Collate, prepare, report and present financial outcomes and projections with insightful commentary for all contracts/projects under remit.Conduct financial evaluations on existing projects, carrying out business modelling and risk assessments.Monitor and analyse performance against KPI''s.Provide interpretation and assumptions on labour rates to Finance Lead for improvements to "New Business" modelling.Maintain systems on project/contract commercial and contractual compliance.Perform general adhoc duties as requested.Ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.Promote and work with the divisional finance function to ensure uniform quality standards across the business.QualificationsDegree in commerce or accounting.Experience working with Projects & Operations & Maintenance contractscontract margin improvements, labour rates, capital expenditure, cost control, project controls and risk management.Experience in general business management with an understanding of business drivers.Experience partnering with Senior Management in a businesspartnering capacity.Strong systems skills SAP, Excel and Power BI.Strong oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.Demonstrated capacity and initiative to solve problems with energy and a positive attitude.Demonstrated ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines, and follow through within a fastpaced environment with competing demands.Previous experience with SAP Project Modules in a relevant industry.Strong attention to detail.Solid commercial understanding.What We OfferDiverse opportunities to grow, back yourself and achieve.A chance to join a 6,000+ strong organisation owned by the CIMIC Group, one of the world''s leading international contractors.Pathways for success and space to carve your own journey.Competitive group remuneration and benefits.Health and wellbeing programme with companyfunded salary continuance insurance.A culture that values diversity and innovation, evolving with market changes and new technologies.About UGL Pty LimitedUGL Pty Limited is a leading provider of endtoend engineering, construction and maintenance services.
