Deputy Service Manager / Director of Pharmacy OperationsLead with influence in a highimpact role at the heart of a major tertiary hospital. Remuneration: $149,772.85 - $153,444.65 per annum plus super and salary packaging. Employment type: Permanent Fulltime. Classification: Pharmacist Grade 5. Location: John Hunter Hospital. Our vibrant pharmacy service is made up of around 70 dedicated professionals, united by the Hunter New England commitment to "Every Patient, Every Time." Together we deliver highquality clinical pharmacy services across a wide range of medical, surgical and paediatric specialties, including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. Beyond the wards, our team is actively involved in dispensary services, medicines supply and production, medication safety initiatives, clinical trials, and antimicrobial stewardship. We also support the next generation of pharmacists through a strong intern programme and a wellestablished residency pathway.About the RoleThis role is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished leader to step into a fastpaced service undergoing significant transformation. Working closely with the Pharmacy Director and senior leadership team, you will shape workforce capability, operational performance and service sustainability across the department.Key responsibilities include:Workforce management staffing, rostering, recruitment and professional development.Governance and compliance ensuring adherence to legislative, policy and accreditation standards.Business operations budget and procurement management, security, facilities and asset management.Continuous improvement focus on patientcare continuity, quality improvement and best practice.Collaboration support a campuswide presence and shared commitment to medication safety.About YouWe''re seeking an experienced pharmacy leader with a strong background managing complex services in a tertiary hospital environment, underpinned by a commitment to patientcentred care.Required skills and experience:Advanced expertise in medication management and safety.Proven capability leading large multidisciplinary teams and budgets.Experience across sterile manufacture, clinical trials, medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, cancer care and specialist dispensing.Highlevel communication and mentoring skills.Demonstrated ability to thrive in change, drive quality improvement and contribute to pharmacy practice development.Proof of eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Pharmacy.Postgraduate qualifications in health service management or equivalent skills and experience.Willingness to participate in rostered weekends, public holidays and oncall services.What We Can Offer YouSustainable Healthcare: Together towards Zero.Proximity to shopping and other services.Monthly allocated days off (fulltime employees).4 weeks annual leave (prorata for parttime).Paid parental leave for eligible employees.Salary packaging options up to $11,600 plus novated leasing.Fitness Passport for gym options for you and your family.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for staff and family members.Additional InformationEligibility list will be created for future fulltime, parttime and temporary vacancies.
