This position is based at the Mackay Repair centre in Mackay on a 4/3 roster. Be home every night with this lifestyle roster.In this handson workshop position, you will be responsible for complete stripdown, inspection, rebuild, and review of test results for heavy diesel engines. You will also be responsible for the ongoing development and upskilling of maintainers working alongside on these engines. Working within a dedicated rebuild team, you will play a key role in ensuring components are rebuilt to OEM standards, delivering quality and reliability for our customers in the mining, construction, and transport sectors.Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Strip, clean, inspect, and rebuild Caterpillar engines to specificationAssess engine condition prior to rebuild and ensure required parts and reclamation have been identified accordinglyOperate with a high focus on quality, safety, and efficiencyUse precision measuring tools and follow OEM technical dataWork collaboratively with the workshop team to meet turnaround targetsContribute to continuous improvement in rebuild processesDetailed service reportsAbout YouProven experience rebuilding Caterpillar C Series / 3200 Series or similar offhighway truck heavy diesel enginesStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailTrade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent) preferredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to safety and quality standardsAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
