The incumbent will be rostered on a 6week cycle involving weekend work (penalty rates apply for Saturday & Sunday).The Compliance and Parking Services Branch provides a high level of customer service across the municipality, balancing community needs and safety as a priority.As a Senior Compliance & Animal Management Officer, you will work as part of a small, dedicated team to deliver highquality Animal Management and Local Laws services to the community. This includes educating residents on responsible pet ownership, administering Council''s functions under the Domestic Animals Act 1994, and implementing Council''s Domestic Animal Management Plan to enhance the safety, health, and amenity of Yarra''s residents and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Compliance Management Team to provide leadership and direction to the Local Laws and Animal Management Teams in achieving compliance with Council''s Local Laws, the Environment Protection Act, Domestic Animals Act 1994, Road Management Act, and other relevant legislation.Supervise and support officers in the field, ensuring timely and effective investigations that meet Council''s statutory obligations and Branch Key Performance Indicators.Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to officers, promoting high standards of performance and professional development.Coordinate operational resources, including rostering and task allocation.Contribute to the development of policies and procedures relating to Local Laws and Animal Management enforcement and administration.Represent Council in the Magistrates'' Court and prepare prosecution material as required.Assist with the management of abandoned vehicles.Communicate effectively with management, stakeholders, and the community to promote the professional image and reputation of Yarra City Council.You will be expected to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, demonstrating respect, teamwork, and innovation to improve productivity and service delivery while maintaining high operational standards.Why Yarra?Yarra City Council is a dynamic and progressive organisation that values diversity, inclusion, and the professional growth of our people.
