Snowy Monaro Regional Council employs over 380 staff from all walks of life and working with us will give you the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful surrounds, progress your career and make a difference in our local community.About The RoleDirect and lead team members and/or contractors to carry out duties in accordance with Councils standards, Safe Work Practices, environmental and quality proceduresMaintain the Water Supply Reticulation Systems and Wastewater Drainage Systems including rising mains, reservoirs and pumping stations throughout the Local Government Area in accordance with Council policies and proceduresBe available for weekend and on-call rosters and be available to respond to emergency call-outs when requiredContribute to the delivery of services and works as required for the Water & Wastewater DepartmentMonitor own work performance and progress towards the delivery of work plan goals and report on progress to SupervisorUse resources efficiently, effectively and responsibly to complete tasks that either contribute to or directly deliver servicesAbout YouMinimum education of NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent with demonstrated contemporary experience in a similar roleDemonstrated experience in effectively supervising staffDemonstrate experience in plumbing and/or the operation and maintenance of public water supply reticulation and wastewater drainage systemsCurrent Confined Space CertificateChemical Handling CertificationWastewater CertificateFluoridation CertificateWater CertificateAbility to work with minimum supervisionConstruction Induction White CardDemonstrated ability to operate, competently, small plant, including: Lawnmowers, whipper snippers, sludge pumps and water snorter (pipeline pressure cleaner)Demonstrate ability to provide efficient and effective customer servicePhysically fit to complete all aspects of the positionDemonstrated ability to work and participate in a team environmentProven commitment to Work Health and SafetyDemonstrate ability and willingness to undertake training in water and wastewater operations as and when requiredCurrent NSW Class LR Motor Vehicle Drivers'' LicenceTraffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Guidance Plan Licence.Excavator LicenceWorking at Heights LicenceAsbestos Awareness LicenceAsbestos Handling LicenceDesirable CriteriaKnowledge and understanding of Radio TelemetryDemonstrated analytical and problem solving skillsExperience in pipeline construction for the laying of water and wastewater mains or ability to learnTraffic Controller CertificateImplement Traffic Control Plans CertificateCertificate of Competence in Excavator OperationCertification in Water Treatment (Cert III) or Certificate in Water Industry OperationsDrivers Licence MR (Medium Rigid)How To ApplyApply by submitting your cover letter and resume through the Apply link.
