The position includes responsibilities across general municipal laws, animal management, litter enforcement and fire prevention.You will work both reactively and proactively, responding to complaints, conducting patrols and inspections, educating the community and taking enforcement action where required.Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce Community Local Laws and relevant legislation including the Domestic Animals Act 1994, Environment Protection Act, Country Fire Authority Act 1958 and Fire Rescue Victoria Act 1958Investigate complaints relating to amenity, litter, fire prevention and animal managementConduct proactive patrols and inspections across the municipalityIssue Notices to Comply, permits and infringement notices in accordance with delegated authorityPrepare briefs of evidence and attend Court when requiredUndertake duties as Assistant Municipal Fire Prevention Officer, including inspections and fire notices during fire seasonSafely collect and transport animals in accordance with legislative and welfare requirementsProvide clear, accurate advice and education to residents, businesses and visitorsBuild effective working relationships with internal teams, external agencies and the communityParticipate in after-hours and weekend rosters as required (overtime allowances apply)About YouYou are a confident and professional enforcement officer with strong communication skills and sound judgement.
