This is a technically challenging, hands-on role responsible for ensuring reliable, secure, and compliant ICT systems that support mission debriefing and aircrew operations.Working under limited supervision, you will liaise regularly with RAAF aircrew, operate and maintain tactical data links, perform ARDS Security Officer duties, and support mission debrief activities during major Defence exercises. When deployed, you will also provide mentoring and planning oversight to Systems Administrators.ResponsibilitiesPlan, implement, and maintain ICT systems, including hardware, software, and infrastructure upgradesDiagnose and resolve complex ICT, security, and debrief support issues using advanced analytical techniquesAdminister, maintain, and optimise ICT infrastructure to ensure system availability and performanceManage firmware, application, operating system, and infrastructure release and patch cyclesImplement and maintain Defence-directed security controls, including intrusion detection and encryptionFulfil ARDS Security Officer responsibilities and ensure compliance with Defence security policies and regulationsMaintain up-to-date technical documentation for the ARDS environmentMonitor system performance and network traffic, execute incident response plans, and resolve emerging issuesPresent and demonstrate mission debrief software updates to RAAF aircrew and implement system upgradesPerform mission debrief duties during Defence Large Force Exercises using specialist hardware and softwareDevelop and maintain mission debrief training packagesTrain military aircrew and groundcrew in the operation of mission debrief systemsMaintain records of support and maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirementsWork collaboratively with IT, engineering, and operational teams to meet customer requirementsDeliver customer demonstrations and briefings at conferences, exercises, and summitsParticipate in continual professional development and ongoing technical trainingGeneral ResponsibilitiesComply with Cubic''s Quality Management SystemAdhere to Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and proceduresMaintain security in accordance with organisational and Defence policiesComply with Cubic Human Resources proceduresCommunicate effectively and regularly with the ARDS ICT TeamPerform other duties as reasonably requiredAbout YouQualifications & ExperienceTertiary qualification in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or equivalent Defence-related IT experienceMinimum of 5 years'' experience in a relevant Defence IT environment with a qualification, or 9+ years'' experience without a qualificationDefence-related specialist security experienceDefence Tactical Data Link experienceCompTIA A+ and/or Network+ certification (or equivalent experience)Strong communication, literacy, and numeracy skillsAbility to lift up to 25kgPersonal AttributesStrong ability to work within a small, high-performing teamWillingness to travel, deploy, and work outdoors as requiredExcellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skillsStrong time management and organisational capabilityHigh standard of written and verbal English communicationCustomer-focused with a strong service delivery mindsetAbility to perform effectively in high-volume, operational environmentsConditions of EmploymentMust be an Australian CitizenMust currently hold a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance and be eligible for NV2Successful completion of a National Police Check, CV/Background Check, and applicable Security Clearance verificationEmployment may be contingent on additional criminal or background screening as requiredWhy Join Cubic Defence Australia?Work on mission-critical systems supporting ADF air operationsEngage directly with military aircrew and operational stakeholdersBe part of a technically advanced, respected Defence programAccess ongoing professional development and training opportunitiesJoin a team where your expertise directly contributes to Defence capability#J-18808-Ljbffr
