OverviewThis position is for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner (CYMHS) (527230d). One position will be filled on a merit basis.The Team: Come and join the Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS). CYMHS is in a period of significant growth, and you could be a part of this exciting expansion of specialised mental health services for children and young people in Tasmania. We are seeking a Lead Practitioner in the new CYMHS Youth Forensic Mental Health Program to work with children and young people living with mental health challenges and in contact with the youth justice system. The Lead Practitioner is a senior clinician who provides direct therapeutic interventions with consumers as well as practice leadership to a range of allied health and nursing clinicians. The role is centrally located at 16-18 Watchorn Street in the Hobart CBD.The RoleThe Role: As a senior clinician the Lead Practitioner Youth Forensic:Delivers comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed biopsychosocial mental health assessments and therapies, and a range of evidence-based psychological, creative and other therapies.Contributes to clinical leadership within the Youth Forensic Program and CYMHS more broadly.Works within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for consumers and families.You will needDemonstrated knowledge, skills and expertise in providing clinical service delivery related to youth forensic mental health and ability to provide high level clinical leadership, exercise professional judgement and initiative and to work under minimal supervision.Compressive knowledge of relevant, evidenced-based contemporary approaches to child and youth forensic mental health services together with experience working as a senior health professional in relevant clinical practice settings.Proven commitment to teamwork and clinical supervision together with advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to be positive role model.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.Why TasmaniaThe Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
