OverviewThe Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Assistant Manager to provide a critical role at the Complex Classification Unit. This is an ongoing, full-time opportunity with the Victorian Public Service, based in Ravenhall and may require travel to various Corrections Victoria facilities across the state. The role focuses on assessment, classification, sentence planning and sentence management for people identified with complex classification needs.About This RoleThe assessment, classification, sentence and intervention planning of people under the custody of Corrections VictoriaOngoing, Full-Time Opportunity to work with a high-performing and passionate team in the Victorian Public ServiceVPS Grade 5: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuationAbout The Business UnitThe Sentence Management Division identifies the needs of people in custody and matches them to correctional resources, balancing security, management and the needs of the person with community protection and efficient operation of the correctional system. It guides the journey of individuals across the period of their sentence. The Complex Classification Unit is part of the Sentence Management Division and supports proactive risk management and responsiveness. It monitors individuals identified as high profile, high risk, or complex across both prisons and community correctional services.About The RoleThe Senior Assistant Manager is responsible for the assessment, classification, sentence planning and sentence management of people with complex classification needs, focusing on those in restricted prison environments and in mainstream/protection environments as required. The position is based in Ravenhall and may require travel to a variety of Corrections Victoria facilities across the state.Some Of Your Duties Will IncludeLeadership of staff in the assessment of people in custody and the development of sentence plansConduct risk assessments of people in custody to determine appropriate placementConduct placement reviews of people in Management Units and high profile units and contribute to decisions relating to placement and managementContribute to discussions and provide advice regarding those subject to the Complex Classification Unit and High Security to senior managementConduct regular reviews of people accommodated in mainstream and protection accommodationAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of Corrections Victoria policies, organisation, procedures and relevant legislation and regulationsQualifications/RequirementsRelevant tertiary qualification or experience is desirableHow To ApplyPlease click the Apply button on this advertisement.
