DescriptionIn the Solar & Storage team of our Project Engineering & Due Diligence section you will get to be involved in the design review, feasibility and assessment of renewable energy projects. This role will see you working alongside other solar and storage engineering specialists and other teams within the Energy Systems landscape such as the Wind Civil and Energy Storage Teams to provide technical consulting services throughout the development, financing, procurement and construction phases of large-scale solar farms, standalone storage plant and hybrid renewable energy projects.We help our customers achieve their project goals by using our technical skills to conduct high-quality analyses, evaluate risks and provide robust answers to difficult questions. We''re predominantly engineers with a knack for skilfully using and building tools and models to get the answers we need.We''re busy and so we were looking for someone to join us in an engineering assurance on project viability through pre-feasibility and red-flag assessmentsDeveloping technical specifications & providing assistance to clients for all aspects of solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) constructionDeveloping reviewing and executing Owners Lenders and Independent Engineer scopes of workGetting out on site and undertaking inspection services for solar & storage projectsConducting greenfield site visits to appraise the characteristics of potential development sitesDesign support and feasibility studies for solar and storage projectsCompletion of performance reviews and evaluation of solar farm installationsDesigning efficient solar farms and BESS considering complex site constraintsAssisting clients with procurement including contract negotiation and tendering.Engaging with a wide range of clients including developers and financial institutions to establish how our capabilities can help answer their questionsDeveloping compelling proposals that explain how our services can meet customer needsWorking on multiple projects managing own time to meet project targetsExecuting projects successfully through careful project managementProducing comprehensive high-quality written reports and other documentation for delivery to the clientExplaining and discussing important results and outcomes from our work with customers or other have:Bachelor of Engineering or Science degree in solar or renewable energy or other relevant discipline (i.e. mechanical, civil, electrical engineering with relevant professional experience)Approx. 8 to 10 years of professional experienceTo work in Australia candidates should have (Working Visa, Permanent Residency, Citizenship).Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceExperience in the solar and storage any of the following would be great but is not essential:Solar farm and / or BESS constructionTechnical due diligence of solar farms and / or BESS for acquisition or project financingProviding Owners Engineering and Lenders Engineering services for solar and / or storage projectsSolar plant design and layouts (ideally using AutoCAD & PVCase or similar)Solar resource and energy assessments (including use of PVSyst)Project management skills and experienceConducting mentoring of less experienced colleaguesExperience with building and maintaining professional relationships with customersExperience in developing proposals for work including budgets, appropriate contractual terms and undertaking negotiations on scope and price with customers.Physical AbilitiesNormal office environment involving regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.Some domestic and international travel to other company office locations, site locations, client offices and conferences.Occasional work outdoors including site visits travelling by car up to six hours and walking on uneven terrain may be required.The role will involve onthejob training as well as other training internally or externally. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate initiative and selfmotivation.
