OverviewAn exciting opportunity has presented for a Lead Commissioner located in Eastern Creek NSW to perform the Commissioning Manager function on Power Projects.About the RoleDowner is the leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand. Operating across the future energy, power generation, oil and gas and industrial sectors, we work closely with our customers to optimise the reliability, efficiency and whole of life costs of their assets and facilities.A opportunity has become available for a Lead Commissioner in Easter Creek, NSW for Downer''s Energy & Utilities business unit reporting into the National Commissioning Manager. The Lead Commissioner provides the required technical support, advice and mentoring on all testing and commissioning related matters during feasibility and estimating phases of the project lifecycle. Including, but not limited to, creation of testing and commissioning sequence based on the scope of works, estimating the most efficient and safe approach to commission assets in line with scope and project requirements. Some additional duties the successful applicant will envision themselves involved with are:Creation of all necessary documentation during feasibility or tendering stage of the project to increase Downer''s winning rate in the market and demonstrating Downers technical expertiseEffectively and efficiently directs the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning of all primary and secondary electrical apparatus at off and on site whilst ensuring compliance with contract requirementsDevelop Inspection and Test Plans and Commissioning Plan''s for the project during feasibility or tendering stage - Ensure that all test procedures are followed and recordedMaintain a productive workforce that adheres to Downer Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality guidelinesResponsible for proactive support and guidance to Project Managers, Construction Managers, Site Supervisors and other Testers during the delivery stage of the projectComplete all necessary documentation and administration for the projectTravel and work on remote project sites within ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and other locations around AustraliaAbout YouElectrical Engineering degree, desirable plus a Diploma of Power SystemsFamiliar with Transgrid standards and ideally have worked on Transgrid substationExperience in performing Recipient In Charge duties for EAP and SFTExperience in field testing and commissioningExtensive experience as a protection tester in substation and transmission environmentsSound understanding of relevant AS/NZ/ISO standards and legislationAwareness of Commercial/ Subcontracting and Procurement frameworksDemonstrated understanding of Secondary Electrical DesignHigh level communication skills - written, spoken, presentations and public speakingAbility to manage customer relationshipsAvailable to work on various remote projects throughout AustraliaWhat We OfferFamily friendly working week of 36 hoursPaid Overtime for commissioning workEmployee benefits including health and wellness initiativesPersonalised career development and growth working with an industry leading teamCompetitive remuneration packageSafety focused culture working within a leading services industryManagement support coupled with ongoing training and mentoringCareer enhancing opportunity to work within an ASX limited companyDowner Group is an employer that acknowledges and embraces the importance of our people''s diverse experiences, talents, and cultures.
