Job Description

EnyGy is a deep-tech energy storage startup commercialising graphene-based ultracapacitors (supercapacitors). EnyGy''s core technology replaces conventional activated carbon electrodes with advanced graphene electrode films, enabling materially higher energy density and performance.EnyGy is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer / Technical Lead to own technical execution across graphene materials, electrode slurry formulation, electrode film processing, and cell-level validation in pouch and cylindrical supercapacitor formats.This is a hands-on senior engineering role, not a corporate management position. You will be the internal technical execution lead, responsible for translating EnyGy''s IP into robust, repeatable processes and commercially viable products. You will work directly in the lab, with manufacturing partners, and alongside junior engineers to build execution capability from the ground up.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn execution of electrode formulation, slurry development, and process optimisationLead laboratory and pilot-scale electrode fabrication (mixing, coating, drying, calendaring, QA/QC)Drive endurance testing and performance validation ofsupercapacitor cellsTranslate experimental learnings into controlled processes, SOPs, and batch documentationAct as technical lead for lab-to-manufacturing scale-up activitiesWork directly with contract manufacturing partners to support replication and scale-upSafeguard EnyGy''s IP through disciplined documentation and knowledge captureMentor and technically guide junior engineers and techniciansSupport grant-funded R&D activities through execution and reporting inputsPrepare technical data packs and reports for internal and external stakeholdersContribute to technical planning and prioritisation in line with commercial objectivesRequirementsPostgraduate qualification (Masters or PhD) in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or equivalent industry experienceStrong hands-on experience with supercapacitors / ultracapacitors, electrochemical energy storage devices, or closely related electrode-based systemsDemonstrated expertise in electrode materials, slurry formulation, and electrochemical testingExperience translating lab-scale work into pilot or production environmentsStrong process discipline, documentation skills, and IP awarenessComfortable operating as a senior individual contributor in a startup environmentAble to work independently while collaborating closely with a small technical teamOther InformationHands-on lab and pilot-scale work is a core part of the roleInternational travel to partners or manufacturers may be requiredWork hours may vary during testing, scale-up, or critical execution phasesApplications are welcome from candidates based in Australia and internationally; EnyGy will consider exceptional candidates regardless of locationRemunerationBase salary: AUD $120,000 + super, plus participation in EnyGy''s Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP).#J-18808-Ljbffr
