Technical Director ElectricalGHD invites you to apply for the Technical Director Electrical role within our South Queensland Power Team. This Principal Engineer position involves technical leadership, directorship of power projects, technical development, mentoring, strategic operational support, and internal capability building.Our world demands low carbon energy solutions to achieve a Net Zero future. As we transition from traditional energy sources to renewable alternatives, you will help accelerate this change.ResponsibilitiesProvide technical leadership and directorship of power projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations.Deliver technical development and mentoring of emerging engineering talent, fostering a highperforming team.Lead the design, delivery, and optimization of largescale substations and transmission/distribution projects, applying HV substation design expertise.Drive sustainable and impactful energy solutions, contributing to clean energy integration and renewable grid compatibility.Spearhead innovative solutions, ensuring seamless connectivity and performance optimization of renewable energy sources within grid infrastructure.Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, managing stakeholder engagement and client relationships.Navigate QLD utility power requirements, operational constraints, and defence project clearance requirements.QualificationsDegree level qualifications in Electrical Engineering.Minimum 15+ years of relevant experience with recognized authority in HV substation design and renewable energy development.Registered Professional Engineer, Queensland (RPEQ).Strong understanding of technical design standards and experience in largescale substation and transmission/distribution project delivery.Practical understanding of QLD utility power requirements and operational constraints.Eligible for defence clearance to lead defence projects.Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse project teams and manage stakeholder engagement.Strong relationshipbuilding skills and clientoriented mindset.Capability to make confident decisions from concept to detailed design.Job DetailsSeniority level: DirectorEmployment type: FulltimeJob function: Design, Consulting, and EngineeringIndustries: Civil Engineering, Industrial Machinery Manufacturing, Environmental ServicesLocation: Brisbane, Queensland, AustraliaSalary: A$170,000 A$230,000 per annumOffice Closure NoticeDuring our office shutdown period from Thursday 25th December 2025 to Friday 9th January 2026, application processing and enquiries may be delayed.
