All whilst making your mark on the future.About this part of our organisation:Our Metals Assets in Australia include multiple & geographically dispersed operations, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants and port facilities. Additionally, Glencore''s consolidated Metals Assets have operations across Asia, both North and South American continents and Europe.About your potential new position:Your primary purpose will be to ensure our business units have what they need, when they need it and at the right price from our contractors and suppliers in the medium to high-risk range. You will do this by liaising with your internal customers to understand all dimensions of their requirements and then utilising our internal and third-party partners to deliver those outcomes. There will also be the requirement to spend time on remote sites to engage with end users to meet business needs.Typical tasks would include:Manage the tendering, negotiation, formulation, and execution of contracts with both local and international suppliersDirect the development and communication of a clear sourcing strategiesAccountable for maintaining the contracts register and ensuring sourcing events are actioned within required timeframesLead / Participate in change initiatives within the sourcing function to drive continuous improvement.Close collaboration with internal stakeholders to fully understand their requirements and strategically engage third-party partners to deliver effective solutionsSupporting operational needs through the timely and effective engagement of contractors and suppliersTo be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor''s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Law, or a related field (preferred)At least 5 years'' hands-on operations experience in developing, implementing and managing contracting strategiesExperience working in major ERP procurement modules like SAP MM / CoupaStrong understanding of the structure and application of contracts, and management of contractsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsDetermination to thrive (and bring your team along too) in an evolving environmentBe able to work with and coordinate remote team members across different time zonesWhat''s in it for you?Apart from being in a worldwide organisation for your career to grow, you will join a team of people who are passionate about their work and love what they do.
