Specialising in vibrant Mexican cuisine and innovative cocktails, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences that celebrate bold flavours and authentic recipes. The successful candidate will contribute to menu development, maintain high food standards, and lead the kitchen team to excellence.The candidate in mind will be expected to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to :Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation and cooking techniques are established and monitored.Research and recommend changes to improve the overall efficiency of the kitchen.Ensure raw material and kitchen wage costs remain within budget.Coordinate daily food requirements considering delivery times, shelf life and storage capabilities.Complete kitchen opening and closing procedures.Report maintenance issues as they arise and ensure equipment is safe to operate.Maintain a thorough knowledge of Little Italy Griffith''s restaurant food and beverage products, as well as an understanding of non-food and beverage products.Assess the quality of products and the services being delivered by the kitchen.Problem solve escalated customer complaints and queries in conjunction with the Head Waiter / Waitress.Ensure business revenues are maximized.Manage and lead the kitchen team while reporting to the head Chef.Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reporting tasks in a timely and accurate manner.Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, volume, and deadlines.Sound knowledge of work health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to Workplace Health and Safety and safe food handling and hygiene.QualificationsCertificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (Preferred but not required)Diploma of Hospitality Management (Preferred but not required)Skills and RequirementsAt least 1 year proven experience as a Cook, with a focus on Mexican cuisine or a strong understanding of Mexican culinary traditions.The ability to stay calm whilst working under pressure, make appropriate decisions quickly while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.Ability to train, communicate and supervise staff effectively.Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.Ability to work as part of a team and to interact positively with others#J-18808-Ljbffr
