Job DescriptionReporting to the Group Manager of Mining you will provide support to the mining operation and technical services departments at our existing and developing projects, through overseeing project implementation, employing industry best practices and developing onsite operational and engineering employees, while ensuring safety, health, and environmental standards are met and maintained.5 Days on and 2 Days off Monday to Friday at our Milton office with travel to Australasia site as required.ResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to and enhancement of safety standards to meet or exceed statutory requirements, ensuring all work aligns with the safety management plan.Participate in the implementation of the strategies, standards, and procedures in accordance with the strategic business plan.Assist in establishing and maintaining standards, procedures, and guidelines for the mining and Technical Services disciplines to mitigate safety and business risks and optimise quality and productivity.Collaborate with onsite teams to support the timely and effective execution of mine plans and schedules, providing technical guidance and expertise.Work with the site Mining Principal and Technical Principal in managing the performance and development of the mining and technical services teams.Lead the implementation and development of safety and business improvement areas including technology.Performance enhancement systems.Manage and monitor project(s) and their compliance to ensure that industry codes and practices are adhered to, quality assurance policies are followed, and performance standards are met.Analysis and monitoring of Critical Path activities during project implementation.Generate necessary internal and external reports on operational and project performance, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Follow project risk management processes, methods and standards.Prepare to travel for work to PNG, Central Queensland and Western NSW.Qualifications4 - 6 years'' experience in large scale open pit mining or underground including supervisory roles.Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Mining, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental engineering).Experience with mine planning and scheduling software (e.g. Deswik, Surpac).Experience with fleet management systems, data capture, precision system and other mine technology or systems.Proven computer experience (e.g. project management/report and Microsoft software suite).Current First Aid QualificationC Class Driver''s LicenceAbility to obtain PNG Metalliferous Mine Manager - Surface certificate of competency or QLD Site Senior Executive (Surface Mineral Mines and Quarries) or NSW Mining Engineering Manager (Underground Mines Other Than Coal Mines).About YouAppreciation and understanding of PNG or other Pacific/SE Asia cultures.Leadership, motivation of others.Effective communication skills.Planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.Time management and multi-tasking skills.Well-developed written and oral communication skills.What are the benefits of working for Harmony?Eligible to participate in the company bonus scheme.Corporate / discounted rates with Medibank and access to Harmony''s rewards and discounts scheme.The opportunity to work for an international mining company with a diverse workforce.Easy access to our office located a short walk from Milton train station.If you believe you have the skills, knowledge, and experience to fulfil this role, please submit your application online.
