Job Description

OverviewThe Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Harvest B''s quality systems, documentation, and compliance processes. This role supports production by leading quality assurance activities, product release, regulatory compliance, and quality documentation. The ideal candidate will have 25 years'' experience in a quality role within a manufacturing environment governed by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), such as SQF, HACCP, and related standards. The role operates on a part-time basis (23 days per week) based at the Penrith facility, with flexibility in how hours are arranged. Working patterns will be agreed to suit both operational requirements and the successful candidate, with reasonable notice for any changes. The role is suitable for candidates seeking part-time work, with the potential to increase to full-time hours over time, subject to business needs. The role requires strong organisational skills, independence, and the ability to maintain continuity of quality oversight within a part-time schedule.ResponsibilitiesQuality System Documentation & Processes: Maintain and update quality systems to ensure compliance with GMP, such as SQF, HACCP, and Halal certification standards.Define & create quality standards and SOPs for extruded protein or co-manufactured & packaged food products.Lead quality testing, verification activities, and product release approvals for extruded proteins and co-manufactured finished goods.Conduct investigations into Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and support corrective and preventive actions.Ensure regulatory compliance and alignment with industry standards for food product quality.Ensure documentation accuracy, version control, and ongoing record maintenance across the QMS.Manufacturing SupportTrain team members on correct adherence to SOPs, GMP requirements, hygiene, quality checks, and documentation practices.Assist in defining production documentation, batch records, and quality checkpoints for new and existing products.Food Safety Program & Management SystemMaintain compliance with HACCP and SQF food safety requirements.Enforce Harvest B''s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Ensure accurate product identification, traceability, and documentation.Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene across production and storage areas.Support staff understanding of food safety, hygiene, and documentation requirements.Key SkillsStrong understanding of GMP, such as SQF, and food safety standards.Ability to interpret and maintain food safety and quality documentation.Strong analytical capability for investigations, quality testing, and data review.Clear written communication for SOP writing and QMS documentation.Ability to work independently while maintaining consistency and oversight.Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.ExperienceEssentialExperience with GMP compliance and food safety systems, such as SQF.Familiarity with cleaning and sanitation procedures.Previous manufacturing experience in food, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices.Experience in a Quality coordinator role is essential.Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.Highly RegardedExperience in a food manufacturing environment.Experience working in a team-oriented production environment.QualificationsBachelor''s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.HACCP Plan Development and Implementation Certificate (desirable but not essential).Driver''s licence and own transport required due to operational demands.#J-18808-Ljbffr
