Update profile visibilityRole DescriptionThe Associate Director will work closely with the Executive and Senior Management Team to implement and refine the business''s administrative systems, processes, procedures, QA practices and project methodologies. You will play a key role in guiding technical staff, optimising project delivery, supporting business development and ensuring the company maintains its strong reputation for quality, compliance and client service.Key DutiesCollaborate with senior leadership to implement administrative systems, QA frameworks and operational processes.Monitor NSW planning processes (if applicable to interstate work) and recommend efficiency improvements.Mentor, guide and manage technical staff and projects as directed.Lead and deliver consultancy functions for large-scale planning and development projects.Support business development activities, including:Preparing LinkedIn content, project updates and thought leadership piecesAttending seminars, industry functions and networking eventsEngagement with industry bodiesConducting presentations to clients and internal teamsSupport the Planning Directors in achieving company targets including market recognition, business growth and professional development across the team.Key Responsibilities & ObjectivesIndependent management of large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals, including design competitions and State Significant Development projects.Maintain research into industry, legislative and regulatory updates to ensure the company remains at the forefront of technical change; report updates to Senior Management fortnightly.Provide high-quality consulting services, engaging with clients and regulatory officers to build strong relationships with government agencies and new clients.Support staff to optimise human and material resources to achieve project outcomes.Prepare, review and monitor reports, submissions, applications and supporting documentation.Represent the company at project inception meetings, client meetings, Council sessions and Panel meetings.Identify and secure new business opportunities.Contribute to achieving and maintaining budget targets for yourself and team members.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAs Associate Director, you will be accountable for:A) Independent Project DeliveryIndependent management and costeffective completion of a wide range of planning projects.Preparation and management of large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals (including design competitions and SSD projects).Delivery of detailed planning advice to identify risk, opportunity and compliance considerations throughout project lifecycles.Assessment of Development Applications for Local, State and Federal Government agencies.Preparation of planning studies for public and institutional clients.Research and analysis on social, economic and planning policy matters for public and private clients.B) Staff SupervisionSupervision, guidance and development of junior and contract planning staff.Participation in staff reviews and proactive identification of opportunities for collaboration and improvement.Leading internal training, workshops and capability development sessions.C) Senior Leadership ContributionContribute to the Executive and Senior Management Team in developing and implementing operational strategies and procedures.Assist in supporting a highperformance culture across the business.D) Business DevelopmentStrengthen existing client relationships and cultivate new work opportunities.Regular attendance at industry events, seminars and networking forums.Assist in implementing marketing strategies and identifying promotional opportunities.E) General Professional DutiesMaintain and enhance technical expertise through research, industry involvement and knowledgesharing.Prepare statutory and strategic planning documentation and approvals materials.Update templates, QA forms and documentation as required.Conduct site inspections and prepare associated reports.Provide detailed planning advice to clients and stakeholders.Prepare and review regulatory reports for proposed and existing developments.Assist other team members and managers in delivering consulting tasks across the business.Manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.Provide facetoface and telephone consultation with clients.Represent the company''s values, principles and strategic direction during all professional interactions.Prepare invoices for completed work in a timely manner.About the CompanyThis role sits within a highly respected Queensland planning consultancy known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and strong relationships with government, developers, institutional organisations and industry bodies.
