PrestonReference: 6852707Join Our Growing Team at Holstep Health!Location: All Holstep Health sites as requiredJob Type: Fixed term - Part time - 0.6 and 0.8 positions available.0.6 FTE is fixed term to Nov 2026; 0.8 FTE is fixed term to 30th June 2026.Brief Description:The Mental Health Clinician role works within our Stepped Care for Older Adults (SCOA) program, delivering counselling to people aged 65 and over (or 50+ for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples) with mild to moderate mental health concerns. The program operates throughout Melbourne''s northwestern region and supports a diverse group of older adults across cultural backgrounds (including CALD communities), mental health presentations, gender identity, relationship status, support networks, values and physical health needs. Clinicians are responsible for clientcentred, recoveryfocused, traumainformed and holistic interventions, using their clinical expertise to assess, conceptualise and deliver treatment. Episodes of care consist of shortterm, oneonone sessions at home, at a Holstep Health office or via telehealth.The role sits within a small but skilled multidisciplinary team comprising social workers, psychologists, mental health nurses and occupational therapists. Holstep Health offers flexible working arrangements, including workfromhome days, and salarypackaging benefits.ResponsibilitiesUndertake comprehensive initial psychosocial and dynamic assessments and deliver targeted, timelimited, evidencebased psychological interventions.Build a therapeutic alliance with clients, working in a clientcentred, recoveryfocused, traumainformed, holistic manner.Maximise participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning by completing Goal Directed Care Plans with clients.Communicate and advocate for the consumer and their carer with the team and external service providers, as required.Uphold standards of care and safety, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.Participate in reviewing operating policies and procedures, as required.Actively monitor and track progress of service provision.Conduct clinical practice professionally and ethically, attending regular team meetings, carecoordination meetings, line supervision and clinical supervision.Work respectfully and productively with other Holstep Health staff, community members, stakeholders and service representatives.Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, funding guidelines, service standards and contractual obligations.Develop and work toward individual work plans in conjunction with the team leader.Contribute to the achievement of internal targets, operating to a high standard and in a timely manner to ensure effective access for clients.Assist in providing ongoing reports and supplying outcome and contact data.Demonstrate behaviours and drive a culture supporting a recovery approach to care.Accurately and timely document, enter data and report.Provide suggestions to the team leader regarding the programme''s operational function and outcomes.Qualifications & ExperienceApproved Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.Degree in Clinical Psychology with eligibility for membership with the A.P.S. College of Clinical Psychologists and registration with AHPRA, orApproved Degree from a recognised school of Occupational Therapy with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Occupational Therapy (Vic.) and registration with AHPRA, orApproved Degree in Psychiatric Nursing or equivalent; or a Bachelor''s Degree in Nursing with a postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric Nursing and registration with AHPRA.Minimum 3 years of counselling experience (or mental health clinician/practitioner), working with mental health symptoms/diagnoses, including assessment, risk assessment, case formulation and delivery of evidencebased treatment interventions.Demonstrated capacity for multidisciplinary teamwork and ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.A commitment to delivering a high level of care within a clientcentred, traumainformed, recovery model.Excellent knowledge of frameworks and therapies relevant to the discipline (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, mindfulness therapy, etc.).Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of Public Mental Health and Aged Care Services.Knowledge of the Aged Care service system, including My Age Care.Understanding of the Stepped Care for mental health model.Sound understanding of social determinants of health, particularly for older adults.Knowledge of intersectionality, diversity and cultural responsiveness.How to ApplyPlease review the attached position description.
