This Heritage company provides B2B garment and fabric supply chain solutions.Role OverviewUMENCO is currently recruiting a Fabric Production Manager for a leading garment supplier, based in Melbourne.The Fabric Production Manager is a hands-on, operational role responsible for the end-to-end planning, procurement, movement and availablity of the fabric across the supply chain. Reporting to the Head of Production and based in Melbourne, this role ensures production teams have the right fabric, to specification, at the right time and cost, with clear visibility from supplier to warehouse. Regular coordination with offshore teams in Vietnam and China, as well as external suppliers and logistics partners, is central to the role.This position is highly execution-focused, owning the day-to-day coordination of fabric ordering, sampling, supplier communication and delivery tracking. The Fabric Production Manager manages fabric requirements against production schedules, identifies risks early and escalates issues with clear, documented solutions. They are accountable for closing loops across suppliers, offshore offices, freight forwarders, warehouses and internal stakeholders and are comfortable undertaking urgent follow-ups, administration and problem-solving when required.A core component of the role is hands-on logistics and inventory control. This includes booking freight, managing shipping and customs documentation, tracking shipments and proactively resolving delays or discrepancies. The role also ensures fabric quality meets specifications prior to production, supports the resolution of quality issues and maintains accurate, disciplined data across systems such as Airtable and internal platforms to provide clear visibility of fabric stock, movements and status.In addition, the Fabric Production Manager, supports quarterly stock valuation and costing processes through accurate data preparation, reconciliation and system input, working closely with Finance and Production. While primarily operational, the role contributes to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and proposing practical workflow and process enhancements.
