The Domestic Family Violence and Sexual Assault Service (DFVSAS) is responsible for delivering sexual assault and domestic violence services across ISLHD, leadership and capacity building within these portfolios and within ISLHD Violence Abuse and Neglect (VAN) service system. DFV&SAS Counsellors provide high quality, culturally competent, trauma-informed therapeutic counselling and support services to: people who have experienced sexual abuse (ie. children, young people, their non-offending family members and adults); adults affected by domestic and family violence (DFV); and, children under 10 years of age (and their families), presenting with problematic and/or harmful sexualised behaviours. Shoalhaven Memorial Hospital is the main referral hospital for the Shoalhaven region, providing emergency care, medical, surgical and orthopaedic services. The hospital has an Intensive Care Unit focusing on high dependency and coronary patients, Childrens Ward and Maternity Unit, as well as a purpose-built regional Cancer Care Centre and sub-acute Mental Health Unit. The hospital is currently undergoing a significant $440M redevelopment that will redefine how healthcare is delivered within the Region. Working With Children Check (WWCC) Current AHPRA Registration or Social Work degree and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Valid NSW Drivers Licence A minimum of 3 years relevant clinical experience post-graduation providing trauma informed therapeutic support services with people who have experienced trauma (namely child/adult sexual assault, family and domestic violence), including psychosocial assessments, crisis interventions, risk assessment and safety planning, advocacy, psychoeducation, therapeutic counselling and group work.
