The Research Fellow will be expected to lead the development, prototyping and validation of the new diagnostic lateral flow test, in collaboration with the broader Sepsis Diagnostics Research Group as well as liaising with the projects research partner Biotome Pty Ltd.The research will be novel in its focus and will develop a commercialisable point-of-care test for diagnosing sepsis in infants. The project aims to develop proof-of-concept prototypes for further commercial development as a rapid sepsis diagnostic.The fellow will be expected to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of study investigators, post-doctoral scientists, research assistants, clinicians, company partners, and hospital and community stakeholders, to assist with the design and development of diagnostic prototypes, and to perform statistical evaluations. The Research Fellow is expected to be highly organised, independent, reliable, show initiative and creativity, and work closely with the study investigators as a partner in the project.Your Key responsibilities will include * Support the Channel 7 Telethon Trust project A New Rapid Diagnostic Test for Neonatal Sepsis, contributing to highquality research, data generation, and publication/patent outcomes.* Analyse, interpret, and securely maintain biological and clinical data in line with GCP guidelines.* Develop, validate, and troubleshoot prototype sepsis biomarker assays.* Assist with maintaining laboratory protocols, including drafting and updating Standard Operating Procedures.* Ensure accurate data collection, recordkeeping, and maintenance of laboratory notebooks.* Maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces to a professional standard.* Manage ordering and inventory of laboratory reagents and consumables.* Communicate effectively with the Professor and research team, contributing to a collaborative environment.* Provide guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students as required.* Contribute to grant applications, patent applications, research outputs, and the development of a strong scholarly profile.Please refer to the for further details.**What We Offer You!**This Fixed Term (12 Months) | Full Time attracts a remuneration of $113,247-$134,148 plus 17% employer superannuation contributions.Youll join a dynamic and talented team where diversity and innovation thrive.
