This is a part-time, 3 days a week role with the opportunity to work flexibly.You will be responsible for providing opportunities and activities for the local defence community to connect and engage through sport and recreation and ensure the implementation and delivery of the IA community engagement strategy.Candidates with a demonstrated understanding of the veteran community and ex-service organisations would be highly regarded, as is experience in sport participation and engagement. Veterans and those connected to the Defence community are encouraged to apply.What you''ll be doingDeveloping and implementing strategies to engage local veterans and their families and the networks/organisations who support them in local sporting communities.Organising and hosting regular events for veterans and their families to connect with local sporting communities.Building strong connections and collaborate with the defence and veteran communities, all levels of government in the area, key IA stakeholders including sport organisations, ex-service organisations, ADF bases, Wellbeing Centres and corporate partners.Identifying the needs of veterans and their families in the local community and connecting them with local sport and recreation communitiesPromoting Invictus Australia''s programs and initiatives to increase awareness and participationMaintaining accurate records and reporting on the progress and impact of engagement activitiesWhat we''re looking forDemonstrated experience in community engagement, stakeholder management or veteran support servicesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with a diverse range of peopleExcellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesDeep understanding of the unique challenges faced by veterans and their familiesPassion for supporting the veteran community and promoting their wellbeingWillingness to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of Invictus AustraliaThis position requires flexibility, with regular work on evenings and weekends to support events and organisational activities.
