Its crucial that as a collective, our employees, volunteers and the general public have all the tools they need to safely and effectively manage emergency events.To learn more about the Department and what we have to offer, please visit our website here or follow us on LinkedIn here .About the RoleThe need to identify and manage all the information assets of an organisation has become more important with the ongoing developments in the digital and mobile workplace, and the requirement for digital transformation in line with the Digital Strategy for Western Australian 2021 2025.Well-managed information is the result of planned, enterprise-wide management of information assets, technologies, processes and staff behaviours.The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is seeking an experienced information governance professional with knowledge of contemporary information management practices to assist in transforming the way in which DFES manages its information assets.The primary functions of this position are:Leading the development, review and maintenance of strategies, policies and procedures for the effective management of information within the agency.Providing effective, timely and high-level advice to Business Information System Owners on information management functionality requirements so that DFES information assets (both physical and digital) are effectively stored and managed.Promoting awareness of the benefits of good information management, advocating for improved information management practices and managing the delivery of effective records management training.Managing and leading a team consisting of six members, fostering professionalism, best practice, innovation and collaboration.Co-ordinating responses to applications made under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 and ensuring the Department complies with all requirements of this Act.Representing the Department on relevant committees and in the development of whole-of-government Information Classification Policy.Leading, managing, and supervising projects in accordance with corporate project management processes.Sounds like you and want to know more?
