Role Overview Successful applicants will be considered for various roles that may range from adhoc assignments to consistent response positions. Security Officers play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within a range of healthcare facilities in Perth, WA. Your duties as a Healthcare Security Officer include: Patrolling assigned areas to deter and detect potential security risks (Detect and deter) Conduct security screenings of individuals and belongings Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure a secure environment for all Surveillance of patients admitted to hospital for a range of mental health concerns First responder to incidents and emergencies Apply control and restraint techniques as needed Document and report observations and incidents in accordance with company and healthcare policies. Maintain physical fitness for a 12hour shift, day or night, including the ability to lift 40kg+ and engage in push/pull activities. Handle incidents involving patients with sensitive mental health issues, ranging from substance abuse, aggression/violence, or selfharm. Upcoming Works (Local & Regional) Vault is expanding its healthcare security team, offering the chance for increased and reliable employment in metropolitan and regional locations throughout Western Australia. Our services will encompass healthcare facilities both in the Metropolitan Area and outlying regions such as Fremantle and Rockingham. Selection Criteria CertificateII in Security Operations and at least two years experience in security or a related field, with demonstrated experience in the conduct of security operations. Demonstrated excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, empathy, and deescalation techniques in stressful situations. Effective written communication skills, including the ability to produce wellstructured and comprehensive reports. Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision, within a team environment. Demonstrated experience in dealing with people from a culturally diverse background, mental health issues, and people with disabilities. Skills and Qualifications Required Valid WA Security Officer licence Valid First Aid qualification Right to work in Australia Working With Childrens card (or willingness to obtain) Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain) Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity (or willingness to obtain) Proficient in selfdefence techniques Demonstrated minimum fitness level 2 years experience in a response level position in crowd control or another relevant role. Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality Exhibit excellent communication skills crucial for interactions with patients, including proficiency in deescalation techniques.
