Job Description

Clinical Trial and Data Management Officer Reporting to the Research Operations Manager, the Clinical Trial and Data Management Officer is responsible for carrying out the daytoday operations involved in the implementation of approved clinical trials at St John of God Subiaco Hospital. Position Perform all aspects of Clinical Trial Conduct, including assessment of patient eligibility for the proposed clinical trial. Ensure the patient is adequately informed and appropriately supported before, during and after the trial. Provide educational information for clients and families related to the clients disease, the trial protocol and associated treatments. Ensure that all preparations required for the commencement of the clinical trial are complete and compliant with relevant guidelines. Implement and oversee the collection, verification and recording of all trialrelated data in accordance with the trial protocol and relevant research & organisational guidelines. Liaise with other relevant health professionals involved in the treatment/care of the client (inpatient and community settings) to ensure the transfer of all information necessary to ensure continuity of care and safe practice in accordance with the trial protocol. Undertake clinical procedures related to the trial including routine observations, collection, labelling, storage and shipment of body substance samples, ensuring compliance with trial protocol and associated research/organisational guidelines. Respond to and report any patient adverse events to the relevant clinician and/or regulatory bodies, in accordance with trial protocol and service provider procedure. Coordinate monitoring visits and ensure all aspects of trial treatment, information, collection of specimens, and recording of data are managed according to relevant guidelines. Represent the clinical trial scheme at local and national investigator meetings as requested. You will ensure the use of relevant clinical guidelines in the delivery of patient care and maintain high standards of clinical care documentation. You will also ensure compliance with all protocols related to the management of patient information in accordance with GCP guidelines and privacy protocols at each service provider across the state. Qualifications Hold a degree or equivalent in health or a healthrelated discipline. Demonstrate welldeveloped interpersonal and communication skills. Prior experience in coordinating clinical trials in a clinical setting and postgraduate research experience is highly desirable. Current certification in Good Clinical Practice and knowledge of clinical and regulatory frameworks relevant to clinical research. Benefits Salary: $88,982 to $105,187 plus 12% superannuation. Fixedterm fulltime position.
