headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples'' wellbeing. This covers four core areas: mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. View the headspace website: Full Time position Located at headspace Port Augusta The Role The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) Youth Wellbeing Connector will work collaboratively with other staff at headspace to maximize outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families. The role will ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people receive mental health support that is culturally sensitive and appropriate. This includes: Offering advice to ensure the support encourages young people to remain connected to their culture Provide strong advocacy for their voices to be heard and develop a strong sense of connection and belonging. Advise staff of the delivery of culturally appropriate individual and group services. About You Identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Extensive knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and social and emotional wellbeing frameworks Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal young people, families & communities. Post-graduate qualification in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (desirable) Whats on offer?
