Due to continued growth, we are seeking a skilled Residential Construction Designer & Draftsperson to join our in-house Design & Drafting team. This is a role responsible for design development and/or working drawings, taking projects from concept through approvals and into construction. About the Role Working closely with our Sales, Estimating, Pre-Start and Construction teams, you will be responsible for creating compliant, cost-effective residential designs and producing the full working drawing sets required to move jobs through approvals and onto site. You will interact with shires, developers, engineers and certifiers, ensuring designs meet all statutory and developer requirements while maintaining buildability, efficiency and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Produce compliant concept designs and preliminary sketches for costing and client presentation Develop approved concepts into full construction and working drawing sets Interpret client requests at pre-start and incorporate them into compliant drawings Ensure all designs meet BCA, NCC, R-Codes, developer covenants and local planning requirements Liaise with Sales, Estimating, Scheduling, Administration and Construction teams Undertake Preliminary Compliance Checks and Final Design Compliance Checking (FDCC) Ensure best-practice design outcomes while remaining cost-effective and buildable Skills & Experience 1+ years experience in residential design and/or drafting (WA experience preferred) Strong Archicad proficiency Sound understanding of BCA/NCC, R-Codes, R-MD Codes and Australian Standards Experience interpreting DAPs, LDPs, Structure Plans, Covenants and developer guidelines Ability to produce accurate working drawings from concept designs Ability to hand-sketch and detail design concepts (preferred) Strong construction knowledge and understanding of residential building methods High attention to detail and problem-solving ability Strong time management and ability to handle multiple jobs concurrently Clear and professional communication skills The Successful Candidate Must Have Tertiary qualification in Architectural Design, Building Design or Residential Drafting (Cert IV, Diploma or Degree) Demonstrated knowledge of NCC/BCA, R-Codes and planning controls Proven Archicad experience Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team Perth metropolitan residency & Drivers Licence #J-18808-Ljbffr
