Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, the Animal Technical Officer plays a key role in the coordination and delivery of sowbased research trials across multiple sites in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. This is a handson role based north of Adelaide, and combines animal husbandry, data collection and research support, contributing to both internal trials and externally funded research projects. Youll work closely with technical specialists, farm teams and external research partners to deliver accurate, timely and highquality data. Exposure to meaningful, applied agricultural research Opportunities to work across multiple sites and disciplines A supportive technical and research team environment Ongoing learning and development opportunities Employee discounts across 400+ retailers Your key responsibilities will include: Coordinate and conduct research trials across nutrition, reproduction, genetics, and animal health and welfare Collect accurate animal and computerbased data in line with project protocols Perform daily trialrelated husbandry tasks including feeding, weighing and animal health monitoring Maintain research equipment and ensure data integrity Support workplace health, safety, animal welfare and biosecurity standards Assist with small projects under guidance from the Senior Technical Officer About you Youre curious, organised and comfortable working handson with animals in a production environment, while also managing data and research requirements. You will bring: A degree or diploma in Agriculture, Animal Science or a related field (or equivalent experience) An understanding of intensive animal production systems Strong organisational, problemsolving and communication skills Confidence working independently following detailed protocols Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends when required Previous experience in animal performance trials is an advantage but not essential.
