About the Job The Maintenance Trade Technician plays an important role in keeping SA Waters infrastructure operating safely and efficiently by delivering highquality maintenance and repair services. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, capital works, and improvement projects, using strong tradebased skills to diagnose issues and implement effective technical solutions. Based at the scenic South Para Reservoir, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fabrication Technician to join a team of experienced fabricators and mechanical fitters. This is a varied role that includes both workshopbased work and travel to sites across the metropolitan area, as well as locations such as Swan Reach through to Cape Jervis, to carry out maintenance, repairs, modifications, and installations on new and existing infrastructure. About Operations and Maintenance The Operations & Maintenance team oversees the management of our water, wastewater and River Murray activities and conducts operational control activities for a secure water supply. The team is responsible for both planned and unplanned maintenance activities, integrating corrective, preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance strategies. They aim to meet availability, performance, cost, and risk targets by leveraging technical asset maintenance and reliability expertise. Operations & Maintenance strives to deliver smart and reliable services to customers while enhancing overall operational efficiency. About the Person The ideal candidate is a skilled and safetyconscious tradesperson with strong technical expertise in maintenance and repairs. They are proactive, reliable and take pride in delivering highquality work. With experience in both planned and reactive maintenance, they can diagnose issues quickly, work efficiently within set timeframes and communicate clearly. Theyre a strong team player and have a commitment to continuous improvement. Your responsibilities for this opportunity Execute internal and external maintenance programs in line with planning and scheduling to optimise equipment uptime, improve efficiency, avoid rework, and to enhance reliability and availability of infrastructure. Participate in and provide subject matter expertise in Safety in Design (SiD) and HAZOP studies. Liaise with maintenance delivery coordinators and supervisors to provide updates on schedules, cost estimates, and any scope variations in accordance with the regional capital delivery framework. Display work management discipline, to capture and report all required maintenance data accurately and promptly in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Provide coaching and mentoring for traderelated apprentices. Ensure infrastructure is safely maintained to a highquality standard in accordance with reliability and maintenance practices. Participation in an oncall roster will be part of this position. Working in remote or isolated locations may be required. Your success in this role will come from: Relevant Trade Certificate or Tertiary Qualifications (Welding & Boilermaker) Ability to work under limited supervision and in a team environment. Understanding of work health and safety and the ability to manage safety and risk. Ability to analyse technical operational problems and recommend appropriate solutions while working under limited supervision. Effective communication and interpersonal skills and competent with computer and software applications. Demonstrate skill, awareness and knowledge on water quality, wastewater, and environmental procedures. Experience running and/or managing small projects.
