We have transformed a small snacking tomato farm into a qualityfocused grower with multiple farms and a stateoftheart packing facility near Bundaberg, servicing chain stores and local and interstate markets with premium quality fruit and produce! We are a large team of passionate people, and we are looking for a valuedriven individual to join our team. About the role As a Fabrication Workshop Trade Assistant, you will support qualified tradespeople such as Boilermakers, Fitters and Turners with fabrication, fitting, and machining tasks. Youll help prepare, assemble, and finish metal parts and keep the workshop safe and tidy. Key Responsibilities Help tradespeople prepare materials, set up workstations, and assist with fabrication and fitting tasks. Measure and mark materials and cut or grind components as directed. Hold or position workpieces during welding, fitting, or assembly. Operate basic workshop equipment like grinders, drills, and cutting tools. Move materials and components around the workshop using proper lifting equipment and techniques. Organise and store materials in the correct areas. Help load and unload materials from delivery vehicles. Clean and prepare metal surfaces for welding or fitting, remove slag, clean welds, and keep work areas stocked with materials. Perform basic maintenance like cleaning and lubricating machinery and report any equipment faults or safety concerns to supervisors. Assist with setting up and calibrating equipment as needed. Keep your work area clean and organise and follow all workplace health and safety rules. Our ideal candidate will be required to have the following attributes Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of workshop operations. The ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and work instructions. Competency in using basic hand and power tools. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects are essential. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Have a positive attitude and take direction well. This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, work in varying temperatures and conditions, and wear personal protective equipment including safety boots, glasses, and hearing protection. Desirable Qualifications Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Completion of or enrolment in a trade apprenticeship program.
