Play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of air travel. You will be working with a diverse team of Security Professionals dedicated to safety, compliance and creating the best airport experience for all passengers flying through Melbourne Airport. You will be:Responsible for consistent and standard security practices ensuring passengers and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to departureControl access to security sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, and identifying weapons, explosives and prohibited itemsEfficiently co-ordinate the flow of passengers through security screeningDemonstrate effective communication and sound decision making skillsProviding consistent high quality customer serviceWhat we are looking for:Experience in customer serviceor a keen interest in working in a dynamic airport environment or overall interest in Aviation SecurityWilling to commit to completecompany provided trainingto gainCertificate II in Transport Security ProtectionOR currently hold a Certificate II in Transport Security ProtectionAbility to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening and medical assessmentsAbility to obtain an ASIC (Criminal history clearance in the past 10 years) which we will pay forA Melbourne Security License is highly desiredHold an unrestricted driver''s license and have own reliable vehicleAvailability to work across a 24/7 rotational rosterWhat you will get in return:Initial base rate of $49, plus penalty rates on applicable daysA Certificate II In Transport Security Protection (TSP). For a limited time, this nationally recognised qualification is offered at $1500 (usually $2000) through ISS.*Please read below for more information on this course.Gain advanced knowledge of Aviation security terminology and theory requirements ahead of your commencement of employment with practical training to follow on site at the airport.Ongoing learning and development through our experienced training departmentFree Car parking included for all staff whilst on shift.Full professional uniform and PPE provided.Paid rest breaks and meal breaks.Access to an industry-leading Employee Assistance Program, supporting your wellbeing in all facets of life.About the Certificate II Transport Security Protection (TSP):Aviation security is an important industry, keeping travelling passengers and their loved ones safe in the air - and to meet new and emerging threat levels, specific theoretical knowledge has been passed through Parliament as a requirement for all Aviation Screeners.As the Employer AND Training Provider,we are in a unique position to guide and support you through theCertificate II in Transport Security Protectionand40 hours paid On-the-Job Trainingrequired for all Aviation Screeners preparing you for your new role as an Aviation Protection Officer, with our Registered Training Organisation.This nationally recognised qualification is offered at the cost of $1500 (normally valued at $2000).
