Our focus is to protect NSW workers by preventing and reducing work related fatalities, serious injuries, and illnesses by securing compliance with work health and safety(WHS)and associated legislation. We do this by undertaking a mix of responsive and proactive programs of work focused onhigh riskharms across all industries, aligned to our strategic plan and regulatory priorities.SafeWork NSW is growing its inspectorate as part of a $127.7 million NSW government investment to uplift capability and capacity across the state to protect NSW workers'' health and safety.About the Psychosocial Programs TeamAsTeam Coordinator/Team LeaderofSafeWorkNSW''sspecialistPsychosocialProgramsteam, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the state''s regulatory approach on theprevention of psychological harmacross NSW workplaces. This is arareopportunity tobe part of amulti-disciplinary team includingspecialist inspectors andproject officers,implementingdata andevidence informed approaches to both educate and enforce compliance withwork health andsafety (WHS)lawsto managepsychosocial risk.Working strategically with other specialist teams such as the Respect at Work Taskforce (focused on workplace sexual harassment prevention) and Return to Work team this specialist harm portfolioalso leads internal capability ofSafeWork NSW''sbroaderinspectorateand investigatorsto strengthenpsychosocial riskcompliance and enforcement outcomes.About the roleReporting through to theManager,Psychosocial Programs,the new role of Team Coordinator/Team Leaderwill provide supervision, operational support and quality assurance, and will alsorespond tocomplexcomplaints, incident investigations, prevention and response programs of workas well as provideexpert advice and education to duty holdersand other SafeWork NSW teams.You will also play a key role indesigningand deliveringstrategic, evidence-based regulatory interventions aimed at preventing psychosocial harms in NSW workplaces, with a focus on high-risk sectors.Your responsibilitiesencompass:coordinate, supervise and supportateam ofspecialist psychosocial inspectors and project officerstodevelop and implementevidence and risk-based strategic regulatory interventionsto prevent psychosocial WHS harmswith a focus on high-risk sectors/industriesprovide team supervision and operational support in the office and the field to ensure services and decisions align with our strategic plan, regulatory priorities, legislation, policies and procedures, and customer service standards, and areconsistent,professionaland responsivesupport the community and people of NSW byidentifyingemerging issues and industry trends and supporting implementation of prevention and response programs of workbuild andmaintaineffective and professional working relationships with customers and stakeholders to improve WHS outcomescollaborate with other SafeWork teams to uplift internal capability and drive continuous improvement onpreventing and responding to psychosocial harms in NSW workplacescontributingtothestrategic direction of SafeWork NSW and ensure alignment with organisational goals.Whatwe''relooking for:A team player who is passionate aboutpsychosocial health and safety,inclusionand diversityAbility to build, develop and lead diverse teamsStrongstrategicstakeholder engagement andwritten and oralcommunication skillsand abilityto engage and influence key stakeholders Highdegree of integrity, excellent judgement and ability to scan, analyse andidentifyneeds and gapsAdvanced project management skills with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable outcomesExperience managing sensitive or complex issuesand ability to apply trauma-informed and person-centred approaches arehighly desirableAbility to interpret and applycomplex legislation and WHS frameworks ishighly desirableExperience working in areas oforganisational psychology,occupational rehabilitation, allied health, WHS, human resources, workplace investigations, organisational change is highly desirable.Essential requirements:Willingness to travel across NSW and occasionally interstateCurrent NSW driver''s licence and safe driving recordSatisfactory criminal record and medical assessmentsWillingness to undertake mandatory probity screeningWillingness to obtain the Diploma of Government (Workplace Inspection) if not already held (12 months from commencing)Appointment and ongoing assignment may be subject to restrictions and satisfactory participation in mandatory pre-employment and ongoing probity screeningin accordance withrelevant legislation and/or related policiesHow to apply:Submityour CV (max3pages) and a cover letter(max 2 pages).
