For more information on Special Measures plans, go to the OCPEwebsite.Primary objectiveAssist with delivery of patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.Context statementThe Aboriginal Enrolled Nurse in Training Program is a key ''entry to practice'' initiative for NT Health to increaserepresentation of Aboriginal nurses in its workforce. The program assists eligible NT Aboriginal students undertake aDiploma of Nursing. The program provides participants employment while studying, guaranteed clinical placements to meetrequirements for registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA), and apathway into a graduate program in an NT Health hospital after graduating.Key duties and responsibilities1. Assist with delivery of patient care in line with level of pre-registration training and competencies, and under the directsupervision of a Registered Nurse.2. Maintain satisfactory progress with pre-registration enrolled nurse program of study.3. Foster a positive workplace culture demonstrating NTH values - safe; responsive; kind - in all interactions.4. Follow defined service quality standards, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to thework being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.5. Capability to undertake shift work.Selection criteriaEssential1. Certificate III Allied Health, Health Services Assistant, or Individual Support.2. Ability to meet entry requirements for Diploma of Nursing.Possess oral and written communication skills which facilitate fulfilment of key responsibilities. Demonstrated initiative, reliability and punctuality, capacity to maintain confidentiality, and capacity to work as aneffective team member.Demonstrated understanding of hygiene, infection control, and work health and safety principles.Demonstrated capacity to take direction and to organise and prioritise work to complete delegated tasks.Ability to perform physical tasks and be physically fit to undertake these tasks.Further informationThe preferred or recommended applicant will be required to hold a current working with children clearance notice andundergo a criminal history check. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant tothe position. This role carries specific immunisation requirements.
